Getting help

Most problems have a quick fix below. If yours doesn't, email warren@organicode.co.za and a real person will reply.

Music stops when the screen is off

Some phones close apps in the background to save battery. Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones are the strictest.

In the app, open Settings and tap the Keep playing option. It takes you to each phone setting that needs changing, with extra steps on Xiaomi phones, and then runs a five-minute test with the screen off to check it worked.

The same settings for Samsung and other phones are in our guide: music stops when the screen turns off.

Songs are missing

Check Settings, Hidden folders and the Ignore tracks shorter than setting. Short files such as ringtones are skipped on purpose, and that can catch album interludes too.

The files have to be on the phone or its SD card. The app doesn't stream or download music.

Bump gestures don't react

Open Settings, Bump gestures, Calibrate. It draws every knock live, so you can see whether the phone feels it. If knocks don't register, lower the sensitivity threshold.

Gestures are ignored while the phone is in a pocket, and the pocket check can mistake a very dark room for one. Turn off Ignore gestures in a pocket if that gets in the way.

Reporting a problem

Open Settings, Share diagnostic log and send it to warren@organicode.co.za with a line or two about what happened. The log holds the app's own error messages, with no music and no personal information.

It helps to mention your phone model and Android version.
